Young Public Administrators for One Planet
Governing for the Future. Now.
Governing for the Future. Now.
Our planet is in crisis. Inequality is rising. Public trust is tanking. And too many government systems are still stuck in a world that doesn’t exist anymore.
Public Administrators for One Planet is a bold new framework for the next generation of public servants—one that centers climate justice, community power, and systems change.
We were inspired by the Engineers for One Planet movement, which helped rewire how engineers are trained. Now, it’s our turn. We're building a public service playbook that actually fits the world we live in.
If you’re Gen Z, you’ve grown up with crisis as your backdrop—wildfires, floods, pandemics, corruption, disinformation. And still, you show up: protesting, organizing, innovating, caring.
But what if public service wasn’t about fixing broken systems from the outside?
What if you could step into government—and change how it works?
That’s what Public Administrators for One Planet is all about.
1. Systems Thinking and Leverage - See the big picture. Connect the dots between policy, climate, inequality, and power. Act on leverage points.
2. Environmental Literacy - Understand the science. Use it to design smarter, greener public solutions.
3. Social Justice & Equity - Name the systems of oppression. Rebuild them from the ground up.
4. Impact Finance - Make budgets and procurement work for people and the planet.
5. Futures Thinking and Nexus Leadership - Think long-term. Use tools like life-cycle analysis and futures planning to anticipate what’s next.
6. Service Design for the Planet - Redesign services that don’t just "do less harm"—they heal.
7. Critical Thinking and New Power - Question everything. Lead with values. Make decisions with heart and rigor. Engage networks.
8. Collaborative Leadership - Share power. Build coalitions. Lead from beside, not above.
9. Inclusive Communication - Speak truth. Listen deeply. Co-create with communities, not for them.
This isn’t about becoming a cog in the machine. It’s about learning how to hack the system from the inside—ethically, strategically, and fearlessly.
